Black Earth Rettenmund Prairie is a 16-acre preserve, with a great diversity of plants, acquired by The Prairie Enthusiasts in 2007. It is a designated State Natural Area, and is managed by the Empire-Sauk Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts.\n \nWHAT TO BRING:\nWe recommend long pants, sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and water.\n\nFIELD TRIP LEADER:\nTo RSVP and if you have questions, please contact trip leader Rich Henderson at this EMAIL or at (608) 845-7065.\nDIRECTIONS:\nFrom Black Earth take Co. Hwy KP west for 1 mile. Then turn left (south) on to Co. Hwy F and go 0.1 miles and turn right (west) on to Fessenfeld Rd. Proceed 0.2 miles to the preserve entrance on the left side of the road. Park on the north side of the road.\n
