DESCRIPTION:Eldred Prairie Seed Collecting\nWednesday, August 20 – 9:00 a.m. to Noon\nLocation: Eldred Prairie, Lancaster, WI\n\nJoin us for weekly Wednesday seed collecting at Eldred Prairie this season! For those of you who are not comfortable with chain saws or backpack sprayers, this is the activity for you. You will be moving slowly around the prairie, learning as you go. All seeds collected will be planted on the back side of the hill where the thicket was removed by a forestry mower. Some day the whole parcel will look as good as the front side!\n \n\n\nWHAT TO BRING:\nYou may wish to bring a bucket or other container to place seed in. Nothing else is required though we suggest that you wear comfortable clothing . We hope you can attend as many days as work for you.\nWORK PARTY LEADER:\n\nThe collecting will be led by George Riggin. If you need to contact him for any reason, such as questions about possible weather delays, you may email him at gfriggin@yahoo,com ( mailto:gfriggin@yahoo,com ) or call at 608-444-0181.\nDIRECTIONS:\nEldred Prairie is located on Lincoln Road just east of Lancaster.\nThe easiest way to get there is by way of Highway 129, the highway that diverts Highway 61 traffic around the east side of Lancaster.\nFrom the north, Lincoln Road is approximately 1 ½ miles south from the north intersection of 61 and 129. From the south, it is about 1 mile north of the south intersection of 61 and 129.\nDrive east on Lincoln Road for about 2 miles. Eldred is on the north side of the road and is obviously a conservation area. The entrance gate is at the east end of the property at the top of the hill.\n
