DESCRIPTION:Eldred Prairie Brush Cutting and Herbicide\nThursday, September 11 – 9:00 a.m. to Noon\nLocation: Eldred Prairie, Lancaster, WI\n\nIt takes some effort to prevent the area that was forestry mowed from growing up to thicket once again. We spot sprayed about 2/3 of the area earlier but will need to go back and cover what we missed. For this just bring sprayers and some water. We will provide herbicide. For the area we did not cover earlier, the resprouts will be well-sized. We will use brush cutters to take off the tops and spot spray what remains of the plant. For this work, we will need brush cutters as well as sprayers.\nThe work will be followed by a gathering for lunch and conversation at The Coffee Tree in Lancaster.\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING:\nBrush cutters. If you would like to participate but do not have a brush cutter, we may be able to provide one. Bring sprayers and some water.\nWORK PARTY LEADER:\n\nIf you have any questions, you may contact Jack Kussmaul at jack.kussmaul@gmail.com ( mailto:jack.kussmaul@gmail.com ) or (608) 778-5299.\nDIRECTIONS:\nEldred Prairie is located on Lincoln Road just east of Lancaster.\nThe easiest way to get there is by way of Highway 129, the highway that diverts Highway 61 traffic around the east side of Lancaster.\nFrom the north, Lincoln Road is approximately 1 ½ miles south from the north intersection of 61 and 129. From the south, it is about 1 mile north of the south intersection of 61 and 129.\nDrive east on Lincoln Road for about 2 miles. Eldred is on the north side of the road and is obviously a conservation area. The entrance gate is at the east end of the property at the top of the hill.\n
