DESCRIPTION:Fall Work Day at Birch Point Prairie\nWednesday, September 17 – 7:00 a.m. to Noon\nLocation: Birch Point Prairie in La Crosse, WI\n\nStarting in September, we will begin our collaborative workdays with the Friends of the Blufflands. Each week there will be a Wednesday and Saturday workday alternating between City of La Crosse properties and Coulee Region Chapter project sites. Our Chapter sites include Marowski Bluff Prairie and Holland Sand Prairie, along with several private lands we’ve been working on. Work will include such tasks as seed collecting, cutting and treating brush, and firebreak construction. Weather will often determine the activity, and we will transition as it gets closer to winter.\nWork party focus: Basal bark treatment of black locust, some cut and treat of brush, and seed collecting.\nWHAT TO BRING:\nWater, sturdy shoes, gloves, and dress for the weather.\nWORK PARTY LEADER:\nEveryone on the Coulee Region Chapter volunteer list will get details on all workdays.
