Registration allows you to attend both parts. This will be the classroom component of The Prairie Enthusiasts’ prescribed burn crew member training. A separate equipment field training event is scheduled for Saturday, October 25. \nCourse topics for the classroom component will include fire ecology, the use of prescribed fire in land management, prescribed burning techniques, safety and PPE, prescribed burn plans, and equipment. Class content will be focused on relatively small (1-50 acres) prescribed burns commonly conducted in the Upper Midwest for the restoration and management of prairies and savannas, with an emphasis on the use of hand tools.\nThe equipment field training component will occur Saturday, October 25 and will allow participants to learn about and practice the use of various hand tools commonly used for relatively small (1-50 acres) prescribed burns in the Upper Midwest.\nCompleting both components is required to obtain certification of completion of The Prairie Enthusiasts’ prescribed burn crew member training.\nTo learn more and to register, CLICK HERE.
