DESCRIPTION:Pearl Forage Fen Work Party\nSaturday, October 10 – 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.\nLocation: Pearl Forage Fen in Waukesha County, WI\n\nThis is a high quality fen that supports many fen specialists and rare species, but it did not begin receiving management until recently. Last fall the Glacial Prairie Chapter burned a portion where work some brush removal has occurred, and we hope to burn it again this upcoming burn season. \nThis work party will likely involve cutting large buckthorn and treating stumps, and more tedious treatment of small buckthorn. We may also collect some seeds that are appropriate for a small portion of fen at the Mukwonago River Oak Barrens that was cleared this last summer. \n \n\n\nWHAT TO BRING:\n\nRubber boots, long sleeves, long pants, and hats should be worn. Take preferred precautions against mosquitos and ticks.
