DESCRIPTION:Moely Prairie Tree & Brush Removal Workday\nSaturday, March 18th – 9:00 AM to Noon\n \nPlease join us at Moely Prairie as we continue our efforts to remove and pile invasive trees and brush that remain on the property. Depending on snow cover, we may be burning brush piles and/or cutting additional trees on the property.\n \nVolunteers have been working in earnest on this small 23.5-acre remnant Moely Prairie for the\nlast 5 years, and tremendous progress has been made in clearing the large stands of invasive\ntrees and brush. The property is unique as it’s completely surrounded by the village of\nPrairie du Sac and offers not only a peaceful respite to hike, but also meaningful educational\nopportunities and citizen science programming for our local students and residents who have\nalso been helping with our restoration efforts. We’ve been excited to watch our native plant\ninventory grow from 70 species when we started, to just over 190 in the time we’ve been doing restoration work and controlled burns.\n \nWhat to Bring/Wear: Please wear long sleeves, long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring your own work gloves and your favorite equipment if you wish (loppers, chainsaws, etc.). Extra loppers and herbicide will be available for use.\n \nWork Party Leader: Paul Anderson, 608-712-9552\n \nDirections to Site: From Hwy 12, turn east onto Hwy PF. After passing the prairie on\nyour right, take a right onto 21st St, a right onto Fullerton Dr, a left on Billings Ave,\nand then a right onto Alban La.
