DESCRIPTION:Cut & Treat and/or Burn Break Work\nTuesday, October 3 – 8:00 a.m. to Noon \nLocation: Lookout Prairie (Hixon Forest in La Crosse)\nWe will work on activities including cutting and treating trees and brush, preparing fire breaks for fall and winter burns, and seed collecting. We will generally work from 8:00 to noon. Volunteers are welcome to participate for part of the scheduled hours and leave whenever they need to.\nWHAT TO BRING: \nFor each of the outings, please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and bring work gloves. Bring hand pruners or loppers if you have them. Otherwise, rubber gloves, pruners and loppers will be provided. Consider bringing water and a snack.\nWORK PARTY LEADER:\nPlease contact Jon Rigden at jonathanrigden@me.com for further information and to RSVP. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.\nDIRECTIONS:\nMeet at the parking lot next to the weather station at 8:00 on Hwy FA. Steep terrain, though there is an option to work on flatter areas on the upper part of the prairie.\n
