There’s another new face at TPE’s virtual “office.” Grace Vosen has joined our staff as a Communications and Outreach Specialist. She will be managing our communication channels (such as social media and the monthly E-News) and working to make them even more effective.

Grace is a graduate of Northland College in northern Wisconsin. She has been active in TPE since 2015, when she was a restoration intern for the Empire-Sauk Chapter. A lifelong writer, Grace found a niche within the chapter as a facilitator of communication. Her volunteer work has included managing the chapter’s Facebook page, planning classes and events, and contributing to TPE’s blog.

Grace looks forward to making meaningful connections across chapters. She enjoys bringing stories to light and tailoring them to different audiences. She is a firm believer in the power of storytelling to spur action. Her mantra, from the book Meaningful Interpretation, is that “‘care about’ comes before ‘care for’”. Grace will be working remotely from her home in Sauk City, Wis.

Grace is taking on the responsibilities of Joe Rising, our Communications Coordinator. Joe is moving on after seven years with TPE. We want to thank him for his excellent work spreading prairie enthusiasm and helping to strengthen TPE for the future.

In addition, Grace will be editing The Prairie Promoter (TPE’s print newsletter). Volunteer Debra Noell is stepping down from this role. We greatly appreciate the professionalism and dedication she brought to her four years as editor. Says Debra, “It’s been a pleasure to work with each of you… Thanks for the experience.”

Throughout this transition, we will continue to share stories from our 11 chapters. Have a story, compelling photo, or news item? Email it to Grace at communications@theprairieenthusiasts.org.
