MINNESOTA DRIFTLESS AND CHAPTER SUPPORT WORK PARTY
Indigenous People’s Day Work Party at Red Wing Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area
Monday, October 13 – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area in Red Wing, MN
The Prairie Enthusiasts chapter support staff have a tradition of honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day each year by helping a Chapter. This year they chose to help the Minnesota Driftless chapter with our work at the Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area in Red Wing!
We’ve had several work days in July and August at the Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area in Red Wing. We’re making good progress and the work party on October 13th will keep the momentum going.
Equipment needs include rakes, brush saws and or clippers, buckthorn blasters if you have them. PPE needs include leather boots, insect repellent, hat, safety glasses, leather gloves and water. If you are able to bring equipment or have equipment needs, please reach out to Jeff at lightfoot.jeff56@gmail.com to let him know. Any questions you might have about the workday can also be sent to Jeff.
We’re asking people to register for the workday using a registration page linked here. Those who register will receive additional helpful information, and they will be notified by Jeff if weather or other factors necessitate a rescheduling of the workday.
And here’s an added bonus – lunch will be provided for anyone who registers by Monday, October 6! We will have vegetarian and gluten free options available and beverages. If you register after October 6, please plan on bringing your own lunch. Bring water!
