Join us for the Minnesota Oak Savanna’s first prescribed burn training! The training will be led by Stephen Winter from the Minnesota Driftless Chapter.

The indoor classroom component on Saturday, November 8 will include course topics such as fire ecology, the use of prescribed fire in land management, prescribed burning techniques, safety and PPE, prescribed burn plans, and equipment.

The outdoor equipment field training component on Sunday, November 9 will allow participants to learn about and practice the use of various hand tools commonly used for relatively small (1-50 acres) prescribed burns conducted in the Upper Midwest.

Completing both components is required to obtain certification of completion of The Prairie Enthusiasts’ prescribed burn crew member training.
