ACCESS & DIRECTIONS

The St. Croix Valley chapter started managing the river-side of the trail from trail head #11 to trail head #12.

Description & Significance

The two-acre Kinnickinnic River Trail is part of the Kinnickinnic Pathway Park, a linear park located to the west of downtown River Falls.

Ownership History

The site is owned by the City of River Falls.

Management

Our goals for 2026 are to

  • Clear between the main trail and river from the KRLT sign to bench at bottom of Trail #11
  • Cut and treat small buckthorn from five experimental plots
  • Sow prairie and grass seed into all cleared areas
  • Remove Dame’s Rocket and Garlic Mustard from experimental plots
  • Census bat activity once a month in all experimental and control plots
  • Census pollinator activity and flowering in all experimental and control plots
