About Our Chapter

Coulee Region Chapter is within the Driftless Region of western Wisconsin. The area contains dry hill prairies, river terrace sand prairies, oak savanna, and oak barrens. There are many rare species existing within these habits; check our our blog post about the Timber Rattlesnake. Many members have small hill prairie remnants, and we work on those along with partnering on other lands. We share the vast knowledge within our membership among ourselves, and with others through outreach activities. Many members have remnants, but many also have reconstructions. We work on these lands, as well as partnering on other lands.

The Coulee Region chapter covers Buffalo, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Trempealeau and Vernon Counties in Wisconsin. We invite you to join us!

We are communicating primarily through chapter emails (let us know if you are not getting them) and Facebook (The Prairie Enthusiasts – Coulee Region Chapter | Facebook). We try to get our events in the calendar but that doesn’t always happen.
