CHIPPEWA SAVANNAS PARTNER WORK PARTY

Brush removal

Thursday, March 14 – 9:00 a.m. to Noon

Location: Maiden Rock Bluff State Natural Area

The West-Central DNR State Natural Areas program hosts a monthly workday the 2nd Thursday of each month, typically at Maiden Rock State Natural Area. These are valuable opportunities to work alongside natural resource professionals and pick their brains about management techniques, plant ID, etc., while helping to restore a beautiful and charismatic remnant prairie. The work varies with the seasons – brush control or mesic tree removal are likely targets of this month’s workday. With the great prescribed burn weather coming up, this workday may be cancelled so that the crew can burn on other properties. You are encouraged to RSVP with Dean Edlin at dean.edlin@wisconsin.gov.  To sign up for monthly alerts about volunteer opportunities on SNAs in your area and view more information click here: https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/StateNaturalAreas/volunteer .
