COULEE REGION BOTANICAL FORAY

Learn to Press Plants & Submit Specimens

Saturday, May 20th – 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM

Location: 19394 Edgewood Avenue, Tomah, WI 54660

Join professional botanists with UW-Herbarium and Botanical Club of Wisconsin, Mary Ann Feist and John Zaborsky, in documenting Monroe county record plants.  Come ready to learn about why plant specimens are curated and still actively collected.  We will also learn how to properly press and submit plant specimens to an herbarium.  Experts will also help train in plant ID and collecting practices – no experience is required.  Habitats we may collect in, represent reconstructed and remnant prairies as well as oak woodlands.

Curt and Melissa Jacobs will be hosting the CRC at their property that they will be reconstructing and restoring prairie and oak woodlands.
