ST CROIX VALLEY & CHIPPEWA SAVANNAS: FIELD TRIP

US Fish & Wildlife Seed Farm Event

Prairie Enthusiasts friends and family have been invited to a St. Croix Wildlife Management District (WMD) seed program event.

Seed farm manager Alex Bouthilet will lead a tour of the seed farm and discuss the USFWS native plant program. You will then have an opportunity to help harvest seed that will be used in future habitat restoration projects. This will be a great chance to learn more about native plants and how to foster their habitats. The new planting looks spectacular with tons of flowering species!  Staff will distribute copies of the seed mix planted.  Everyone can also help get an idea of how many species have flowered within just two growing seasons.

Please let Evanne Hunt know (EMAIL) if you plan to come.  Staff want to know if there will be a large crowd.

Also, if you’re in the Chippewa Savannas Chapter and would like to carpool to the event, please email Katie Hahn to coordinate details.

Date: September 23 (Saturday)
Time: 10am — 2pm
Location:  1616 County Road H, New Richmond, WI
