GLACIAL PRAIRIE CHAPTER WORK DAY

Start the New Year by helping our native ecosystems!

We have a full calendar of workdays during January to work off any holiday excess and care for our environment.

Wear clothes that can get beat up, sturdy boots, work gloves, and bring a water bottle. Tools, safety equipment, and training will be provided at each event.

Sat Jan 21st, 9am – Noon, SNA Scuppernong Springs Nature Trail

Prairie and savanna vegetation (including WI threatened Forked aster) exist along portions of this trail. Threats to the ecological health of the native plant communities consists of honeysuckle and buckthorn. Fortunately most of the invasive woody vegetation is relatively small and easy to handle. While this is a fee area, volunteers will be furnished with State Park passes to leave on the dash of their vehicle.
