A collaborative effort with our friends in the Many Rivers Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts
This work is to help our friends in the Many Rivers chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts who have been working through the years on a few properties that straddle the boundary between their chapter service area and the service area of the Minnesota Driftless chapter (follow this link to see TPE chapter boundaries). Last winter (2022), our two chapters had two work days at this site (see photos below), let’s get together again and do more good work!
The site we’ll be working on is called the Eden property and it is on the south side of County Road 16 (595th St), northwest of Dodge Center, MN. Starting at CR 7 (185th Avenue) on the east and moving west along CR 16 towards Hwy 56 (The Capitol Highway), there is a gravel road on the south side of CR 16 just to the east of T-215 (T-215 is also on the south side of CR 16). Turn south on that gravel road (it and T-215 actually angle a little to the southeast) and follow it to the first house on the east. Park along that gravel road on both sides of the house and we’ll meet there before we walk to the work site east of the house. The following link will take you to the parking spot in Google Maps:

If you’re only available for a portion of the March 18th work day, that is fine, any help you can provide will be appreciated. It’s the same if bad weather pushes the work day to March 19th.
If you have or can borrow a chainsaw, a brush cutter, or loppers, please bring them. If you’re bringing power tools please bring your own fuel and oil as well as your own PPE such as chaps, goggles, helmets, face mask, etc.
Dress warm and bring your own work gloves, wear appropriate footwear, and bring snacks and hydrating liquids.
Please RSVP to Steve at wintersl8944@gmail.com and let him know if you can make it. Steve will be sending out event updates to the people who RSVP’d as the date approaches, including updates on whether we may need to reschedule for March 19th because of bad weather.
