Maintaining Pathways in the Park

Saturday, May 20th – 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Location: Prairie Crossing Park

Our main activity will be spreading wood mulch for the walking paths through this City of Rochester Natural Area. Minnesota Driftless chapter members have assisted with the restoration of the oak savanna at this park and itS development as a natural area since 2019.

Work clothes appropriate for the event would include closed-toe shoes or boots, long pants, layers to put on or take off to stay comfortable on a spring day, leather gloves ,and perhaps a hat to keep the sun off your face. Insect repellent would be a good idea as would sunscreen. Bring a hydrating liquid and snacks to keep you energized throughout the morning.

If you would like to participate in this event, please send an RSVP to Angela Smith (EMAIL). Be sure to RSVP so you’ll get updates if the date or time of the event needs to shift because of bad weather.

The park is located at 6801 Larkspur Parkway NW in Rochester, and here’s a Google Maps link you can use to navigate there.

The event is finished.
