MINNESOTA DRIFTLESS WORK PARTY

Tree & Brush Removal

Saturday, February 24 — 9:00 a.m. to Noon

Location: Eagles Bluff Park

Join us on February 24th to continue the momentum we started with our prior removal of cedar and buckthorn on the bluff prairies in Eagles Bluff Park. As before, we’ll continue efforts to clear cedar and buckthorn opening up the spectacular view of this large bluff prairie.

All volunteers will have to complete a City of La Crescent waiver of liability form.  A liability waiver form can be sent to you when you RSVP or you can sign them when you arrive at the workday. Please send Jason Ludwigson an RSVP (jludwigson@cityoflacrescent-mn.gov; 507-313-9633) to let him know you’re planning to be there.  This will allow Jason to send you a liability waiver form and will give him a sense of how much food to have available for volunteers.  And if the workday needs to be cancelled or the timing adjusted at the last minute, Jason will send that update to the people on the RSVP list.

If the workday has to be cancelled a likely alternative date will be March 2nd, 2024.

WHAT TO BRING:

Chainsaws, loppers, and handsaws will be the preferred tools. Please bring your own saws, fuel, PPE, and hydration. Sturdy footwear is recommended. If you do not have a chainsaw, you can still be helpful piling material and cutting with hand tools.

WORK PARTY LEADER & DIRECTIONS:

Please park at Allan McCormick’s address. From his house we will walk in across the top of the bluff. The address is 33966 Aerie Heights Lane.

*** Please drive at a speed less than 20 mph when traveling on Aerie Heights Lane. ***

The event is finished.
