MINNESOTA DRIFTLESS WORK PARTY

Clearing Brush

Sunday, February 25 – 9:00 a.m. to Noon

Location: Pleasant Bluff

We will be continuing with the momentum we started in November.  As before, we’ll work on the savanna-edge of the bluff down along the paved road, clearing brush around the Bur Oak and Hickory trees, opening up more spectacular views of this large bluff prairie, continuing this important habitat restoration work.

WHAT TO BRING:

Chainsaws will be helpful. If you have one, please bring your own saw, fuel, PPE, and hydration. Sturdy footwear is recommended, though we will not all need to do much hill-climbing. If you do not have a chainsaw, you can still be a big help piling material and treating stumps. On both days we will work from 9 to 12 and then lunch will be provided by the owners.

DIRECTIONS:

The Pleasant Bluff landowners, Paul and Missy Richards, now own the parcel to the Southeast of the bluff and we are now able to park on their driveway below the road. The address is 22333 Pleasant Ridge Road, Winona, MN 55987.  Here’s a Google Maps link you can use to navigate to the site:

WORK PARTY LEADER:

Please send Gabe Ericksen an email or text to let him know if you will be able to make it to one or both of these events so we can have an idea how much food to bring, and also so you can be notified if the plans change due to weather.
