A member of the Minnesota Driftless Chapter, Wendy Johnson, has embarked on a restoration project at her farm and she could use your help in sowing prairie seeds. Below is a message from Wendy about her seed sowing party. She writes:
Hello, friends and family! Join me for this special day on the farm!
My pollinator prairie habitat reconstruction is in full gear this spring! Last week, Prairie Restoration folks burned the fields, and once we have a day or two to dry out between rain showers, they will drill-seed 10 bazillion seeds into the soil.
THEN, I get to hand-broadcast 1 bazillion seeds (25 species!) in dense swaths throughout the 17.8 acre reconstruction. But I can’t possibly do this alone! That’s where I’d love to have your help, sowing seeds and cheering on our little baby plants! Anyone who wants to stay a little longer can join me on a little walking farm tour at 4.
