Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area
102 E Crex Ave, Grantsburg, WI 54840
10am – 4pm
Crex Meadows Wildlife Area is a 30,000-acre property of wetlands, brush prairies and forests scattered across a gently rolling landscape.
Most of the visitors come to view wildlife. The popularity of Crex is attributed to its large size, spectacular vistas and great diversity of plants and wildlife. A system of well-maintained roads, observation areas and a rest area provide excellent access and wildlife viewing opportunities.
Agenda
Plan to arrive at Crex about 9:30am.
John Arthur and Alex Bouthilet will give a short orientation. We will then caravan along the 24-mile long Auto Tour.
We will stop at the Rest Area (#11) to take a break and have a picnic lunch. Picnic tables, benches, fire grates, and toilets are available for your use. John and Alex will answer questions and give a preview of the remaining tour.
We will finish our tour at about 4pm and head home.
