Holland Sand Prairie Hike
Saturday, May 17 – 10:00 a.m.
Location: Holland Sand Prairie near Holmen, WI
Holland Sand Prairie is a 61-acre protected site owned by the Town of Holland with a conservation easement through the Mississippi Valley Conservancy. The site is the largest remnant of the once expansive ancient river floodplain terrace prairie of the Mississippi River running from La Crosse to Galesville. We’ll catch the end of the spring blooming species. Come see the progress on restoration, including nearly annual burns on portions of the site each year. The hike is sponsored by the Friends of the Holland Sand Prairie.
DIFFICULTY: The site is relatively flat and easy walking.
