Cut and Treat

Saturday, October 7 – 8:00 a.m. to Noon 

Location: Stry Prairie on Miller Bluff (Hixon Forest in La Crosse)

We will work on activities including cutting and treating trees and brush, preparing fire breaks for fall and winter burns, and seed collecting. We will generally work from 8:00 to noon. Volunteers are welcome to participate for part of the scheduled hours and leave whenever they need to.

WHAT TO BRING:

For each of the outings, please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and bring work gloves. Bring hand pruners or loppers if you have them. Otherwise, rubber gloves, pruners and loppers will be provided. Consider bringing water and a snack.

DIRECTIONS: 

Meet at the end of Rim of the City Road, then some of us will drive back beyond the gates closer to the prairie. Once again, steep terrain, but an option to work on flat areas.
