Black Earth Rettenmund Prairie Hike

Location: Black Earth Rettenmund Prairie
Come see one of the most intact, highest quality, remnants of original prairie in Wisconsin. Black Earth Rettenmund Prairie is a 16-acre preserve, with a great diversity of plants, acquired by The Prairie Enthusiasts in 2007. It is a designated State Natural Area, and is managed by the Empire-Sauk Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts.
WHAT TO BRING:
We recommend long pants, sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and water.

DIRECTIONS:
From Black Earth take Co. Hwy KP west for 1 mile. Then turn left (south) on to Co. Hwy F and go 0.1 miles and turn right (west) on to Fessenfeld Rd. Proceed 0.2 miles to the preserve entrance on the left side of the road. Park on the north side of the road.
