EMPIRE-SAUK WORK PARTY

Giordano Oak Barrens and Sand Prairie Brush Piling/Removal Workday

Saturday, January 25 – Noon to 3:00 p.m.

Location: Giordano Oak Barrens and Sand Prairie, Lodi, WI

Help restore this unique oak barrens and sand prairie community. We’ll be clearing brush and cleaning up previously downed material. If snow is on the ground, we’ll burn piles, otherwise we can build burn piles to help prepare for future workdays.

WHAT TO BRING:

Be sure to wear appropriate clothing for the weather (dress in layers). For burning brush piles, wear old clothes you do not mind getting small holes in from fire brands. Do not wear synthetic fabrics near burn piles; they ignite too easily. Wear sturdy footwear and work gloves. Bring drinking water.
