EMPIRE-SAUK WORK PARTY
Spotted Knapweed Removal at Giordano Oak Barrens
Friday, June 27 – 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Location: Giordano Oak Barrens and Sand Prairie, Lodi, WI
Help restore this oak barrens and sand prairie site containing unique plant, insect and reptile communities. Come see significant work recently done to open this site up so communities can flourish. You can protect these previous management investments by removing invasive spotted knapweed. Lets not let any of this biennial weed go to seed!
We’ll be sweeping through the open sand prairie in search of individuals and small weed populations, many of which were released to sunlight by recent red cedar removal.
WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring gloves, a hat, snacks, drinking water, and help us remove spotted knapweed from our species list.
