EMPIRE-SAUK WORK PARTY

Brush & Tree Removal and/or Brush Pile Burning

Sunday, January 7 — 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Schurch-Thomson

Join us to help remove trees and brush to expand grassland bird habitat and improve prairie remnants or plantings. We will burn brush piles if weather permits.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR:

Be sure to wear appropriate clothing for the weather (dress in layers). Do not wear synthetic fabrics near burn piles. Sturdy footwear and work gloves are required. Eye protection recommended while working on brush and trees. Bring drinking water. Chainsaw operators with their own equipment are welcome, but must have safety chaps and protective headgear

WORK PARTY LEADER:

Rich Henderson, (h) 608.845.7065, (c) 608.235.4165; tpe.rhenderson@tds.net (if you can help, please contact the night before)

DIRECTIONS:

(Meet at barn at 8624 Reilly Road, Barneveld, WI) From the intersection of US Hwy 18-151 and County F (south of Blue Mounds in western Dane County), take F approximately 5 miles south. Turn right onto Reilly Road and proceed to parking lot and kiosks at the end of the road (past the barn). (Note: A half mile down F from 18-151, pay close attention to the road signs, as F turns to the right & the straight-ahead road becomes County Z. Stay on F.)

The event is finished.
