MINNESOTA DRIFTLESS WORK PARTY
Brush Removal
Sunday, December 10 — 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Location: Pleasant Bluff, Winona County
LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED!
The November 18 workday went well, and we want to continue the momentum. As before, we’ll work on the savanna-edge of the bluff along the road, clearing brush around the bur oak and hickory trees, opening up the spectacular view of this large bluff prairie.
Chainsaws will be the preferred tool. Please bring your own saws, fuel, Personal Protective Equipment and hydration. Sturdy footwear is recommended, though we will not need to do much hill climbing. If you do not have a chainsaw, you can still be helpful piling material and treating stumps.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR:
WORK PARTY LEADER:
Please send Gabe Ericksen an email or text (507-458-3684) to let him know if you will be able to make it, so we can have an idea how much food to bring, and also so you can be notified if the plans change.
DIRECTIONS:
The Pleasant Bluff landowners, Paul and Missy Richards, now own the parcel to the Southeast of the bluff and we are now able to park on the driveway below the road. The address is 22333 Pleasant Ridge Road, Winona, MN 55987. HERE is a Google Maps link you can use to navigate to the site.
