MINNESOTA DRIFTLESS WORK PARTY

Eagles Bluff Park Work Day

Saturday, November 23 – 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Location: Eagles Bluff Park in La Crescent, MN

Join us on Saturday, November 23rd, from 8:30 to 11:30 to continue the momentum we started with our prior removal of red cedar and buckthorn on the dry bluff prairies (goat prairies) in Eagles Bluff Park. We’ll continue our clearing efforts to open up the spectacular view of this large bluff prairie.

All volunteers will have to complete a City of La Crescent waiver of liability form that can be sent to you by Mary (see RSVP). Please sign the waiver electronically and send it back to Mary, or you can print it, sign it, and bring it to the work day. Copies of the waiver will also be available at the work day that can be signed there.

WHAT TO BRING:

The preferred tools are chainsaws, loppers, and handsaws. Please bring your own saws, fuel, PPE, and hydration. Sturdy footwear is recommended. If you do not have a chainsaw, you can still be helpful by piling material and cutting with hand tools. Snacks will be provided.

WORK PARTY LEADER:

Please send your RSVP to Mary Gegen to let her know you’re planning to attend. The goal is to have at least four volunteers RSVP for this work day. If we don’t have four volunteers signed up by Monday, November 18th, we will pick a new work day and alert all who are invited of the new date. Any additional updates or information about the work day will be sent to those on the RSVP list as well.

LOCATION:

Please park at Allan McCormick’s address: 33966 Aerie Heights Lane, La Crescent, MN. From his house we will walk across the top of the bluff to reach the goat prairie.

**Please drive at a speed less than 20 mph when traveling on Aerie Heights Lane**

The event is finished.
