MINNESOTA DRIFTLESS WORK PARTY

Pleasant Bluff Work Day

Saturday, December 14 – 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Location: Pleasant Bluff in Winona

We are going to continue expanding and improving on our progress at Pleasant Bluff! As we did last season, we’ll work on the savanna-edge of the bluff along the road, clearing brush around the Bur Oak, Hickory, and Poplar trees, opening up the spectacular view of this large bluff prairie.

The Pleasant Bluff landowners, Paul and Missy Richards, own the parcel to the Southeast of the bluff and we will park on the driveway below the road away from traffic.

WHAT TO BRING:

Chainsaws will likely be the most practical tool. Please bring your own saws, fuel, PPE, and hydration. Sturdy footwear is recommended, though we will not need to do much hill-climbing. If you do not have a chainsaw, you can still be helpful piling material and treating stumps. Herbicide and sprayers will be provided.

WORK PARTY LEADER:

Please send Gabe Ericksen an email or text at (507) 458-3684to let him know if you will be able to make it, so we can have an idea how much food to bring, and also so you can be notified if the plans change due to weather.

LOCATION:

The address is 22333 Pleasant Ridge Road, Winona, MN 55987. Here’s a Google Maps link you can use to navigate to the parking spot.

The event is finished.
