MINNESOTA DRIFTLESS WORK PARTY

Acorn Planting

Saturday, September 13 – 9:00 a.m.

Location: Choice, MN

Hello everyone, Justin Nooker has about 4 bushels or more of white oak acorns that are germinating and he’s hoping the Minnesota Driftless chapter of TPE could mobilize some hands to help him get them in the ground at his property where he’s restoring a bluff prairie and associate oak savanna/woods.  Your work would help ensure oak recruitment at the property.

Here are the details:

Saturday, September 13th

9:00am to whenever people want to leave

About 1/2 mile east of Choice, MN at the intersection of CR 13 and 441st St. 43.65828° N, 91.77005° W

Please drive safely with farm equipment being more active at this time of year.

Bring a hand trowel, hand shovel, or similar tool to to put the acorns in the ground, as well as insect repellent, hydrating liquids, snacks, and something to carry these items in such as a backpack.

If you have any questions, please send them to Justin at <Just.Nooker@gmail.com>.

P.S. – if folks want some acorns for their property, they can contact Justin to get some. Justin believes they are remnant Caledonia genetics.

The event is finished.
