NORTHWEST ILLINOIS: IS GREEN BURIAL FOR YOU
In Collaboration With Casper Creek Cemetery
Sunday, October 1, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Rain Dae: Sunday, October 8
Location: Casper Creek Cemetery, 870 S. Pilot Knob Rd., Galena, IL 61036
With the interest in green burial growing across the country, we are excited to invite everyone to a presentation and an exploration of the Driftless Area’s very own certified green burial cemetery. The presentation led by Andra Olney-Larson, Operations and Sales Manager of Casper Creek
Cemetery, will gently explore natural burial disposition options, conservation burial grounds and the impact that our final acts can have on the world.
The presentation will include, a 30-45 minute walking tour, and a dynamic Q&A session concerning green cemetery burial, after which we encourage participants to explore the Casper Bluff Land and Water Reserve. The Northern Illinois Prairie Enthusiasts were instrumental in the establishment of the Prairie at Casper Bluff by designing, seeding, and providing the initial maintenance of the site and are excited for everyone to enjoy its beauty.
Free to the public, no RSVP needed.
