SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN WORK PARTY

Removing Invasive Plants

Monday, April 29 – 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Location: Feist Prairie

Please join us for second work party at the small yet mighty Feist Prairie on Monday, April 29 from 4-7 p.m. We will focus on removing and treating invasives like prickly ash, black raspberry, and honeysuckle. Wear leather gloves and other pricker-resistant clothing.

If you have them, please bring brush cutters, small chainsaws, handheld pruners and/or small loppers and herbicide daubers/small spray bottles. Herbicide will be provided.

Given that we’ll be working over the typical supper time, please bring something to eat and drink. Snacks and drinking water will be available.

Feist Prairie is located south of Stitzer on Sleepy Hollow Road. Coming from the north or east, head east out of Stitzer on Hwy E. Turn right onto Ridge Rd., then head south for approx. 2 miles. Turn left onto Sleepy Hollow Road for approx. 1 mile. Look for The Prairie Enthusiasts sign on your left.

From Platteville, head north on Hwy D, turn left on E for approx. 3 miles. Turn left on Scenic Rd. At approx. 1.5 miles, turn right onto Sleepy Hollow Rd. Look for The Prairie Enthusiasts sign on your right.

If you have questions, please contact Site Steward Becky Fernette at EMAIL or 608.379.0781 (cell).

The event is finished.
