We were busy!
The St Croix Valley chapter was busy in 2025 meeting our mission to preserve, protect, and maintain the native prairies and savannas in our area (Pierce, St. Croix, Polk, and Washington counties).
We managed five sites:
➤ Alexander Oak Savanna
➤ Blueberry Hill
➤ Foster Conservation Area
➤ River Hills Park along the Kinnickinic River (Trail head #11)
➤ Rocky Branch
We also added two new sites at the end of the year to our roster.
✓ Brokken Woods
✓ Oak Drive Wet Prairie
All this work totaled 1845 hours. It was accomplished by 166 individuals — every one of you a star!
These hours do not include administrative hours, chapter land management committee, or the hours that site stewards spend planning and coordinating work.
We also conducted 16 prescribed burns, eight field trips to prairies plantings in progress, did a snow seeding at Alexander savanna, led three butterfly hunts, and met for a chapter picnic.
If you have not already done so, read the annual report of the entire organization. We are part of an amazing organization.

Looking forward to 2026
